Meet The Teacher: Who is Sheila Jane Teaching

I heard there was a Meet The Teacher Blogger Party going on over at Falling into First.  I think I am WAY beyond fashionably late.

I hope there are still some wild party animals out there! Anybody?!?!

Instead of typing my questions in blog form, I like to think of this post as a remix.  I took the questions and video taped my responses.

I like to call it: Get To Know The Teacher VLOGGER.

Think of vlogger as a cross between video and blog.

I hope you enjoy my video!

I promise you lots of cheesy singing and a big announcement.

Also, don't forget to comment below and let me know your favorite song!

  3. Oh yeah I forgot. I have too many favorite songs to pick just one. However, I listen to Christian music and I DO have a favorite band. Tenth Avenue North. They usually post video journals to help explain the meanings/messages behind their songs so you get to appreciate them even more!

    1. I have never heard of Tenth Avenue North. I really like the idea of them making videos explaining the meaning behind their songs. I like connecting to lyrics that are inspiring. Thank you for the tip!

  5. Your videos are not only motivational but inspiring. This will actually be my first year teaching and I'm really excited about it, however watching your videos has enlightened me in so many ways. Your driven and bubbly attitude makes learning and teaching exciting and it encourages me to think outside the box and create interactive ideas and assignments for the kids. Your words are not only encouraging it helps me as a teacher to grow and nourish my mind with ideas that will help me strive later on. I will definitely keep reading and watching. Oh right!, one of my favorite songs this summer is titled "Rude", perhaps you heard of it; very catchy.

  6. Hi! I'm a first year teacher and love watching your videos. You have such great ideas and info and your site has inspired me to do bucket filling with my fifth graders...which they love. I especially liked your Oscar Wilde quote today. It helped me realize that I shouldn't compare myself to other teachers but be my own quirky self. My favorite song of the moment is let it go from frozen. Thanks again for your videos and all you do!!!

    1. How exciting to be in your first year teaching! Fifth grade is a really rewarding grade to teach. You will love it. I am really glad to hear that your students like bucket filling. Bucket Filling is such a great way to build community. Do you have a place where students can leave bucket notes for you? The Oscar Wilde quote is really powerful for me. I have worked hard for a long time not trying to compare myself to others. It continues to be a daily goal of mine. Let your quirky side show!!! People will fall in love with the real you. "Let It Go" is an amazing song. I love my Frozen Pandora station. Thank YOU for watching my videos and leaving me a comment! Keep me posted on how your first year of teaching goes!

  10. Hi! I am so excited to hear about your new business venture and to see what you have in store for teachers. I follow you on Instagram and FB, so I'm beginning to feel a bit stalker-ish, but I assure you I am a normal 4th grade teacher! I love your upbeat personality and your sense of humor. Okay...my favorite song of all time is "ABC" by the Jackson 5, but currently my favorite song is Pharrell's "Happy."

    1. Yay! You crack me up. Please stalk away! You can find me on Pinterest and Twitter too. I am also a teacher blogger stalker. There are tons of great teacher blogs how can we not stalk! How is your Back To School going? "ABC" is a great song. We just had a Jackson 5 cover band play at our summer concert series. The song "Happy" is perfect for a brain breaks in the classroom. I hope to see you in the comments soon.
